Overview

The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) provides comprehensive assessment support to assist lecturers and faculties in designing, implementing, and reviewing high‑quality, fair, and academically sound assessment practices. Our support focuses on constructive alignment, assessment for, of and as learning, assessment literacy, and the responsible use of digital and AI‑enabled assessment approaches.

CTL offers guidance on assessment design, rubrics and feedback, moderation and quality assurance, continuous and high‑stakes assessment, and academic integrity. Through consultations, workshops, resources, and faculty‑specific support, we partner with academic staff to enhance assessment quality, promote student learning, and ensure alignment with institutional policies and frameworks.

The core of the commitment is to empower lecturers with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in the ever-evolving landscape of education. Through collaborative efforts, we provide valuable insights, recommendations, and support on all matters related to teaching and learning assessment and moderation. The CTL Assessment Workgroup serves as a hub for creativity, best practices, and continual improvement in the assessment processes, ensuring lecturers are equipped to deliver impactful and engaging educational experiences.

Academic staff are invited to join us on this journey of teaching excellence as we strive to create a dynamic and forward-thinking community dedicated to advancing assessment practices for the benefit of both lecturer and students. Explore the resources, engage in discussions, and stay informed about the latest developments in assessment through our collaborative efforts. Together, we are shaping the future of teaching and learning assessment.
