Live Streaming Service

Overview

Lecturers can request our Professional Live-Streaming service to broadcast academic events across NWU campuses and to online participants, including lectures, conferences, and special events.

The service provides a complete Audio-Visual Setup and Support and consists of the following procedures:

1. Meeting of Event Organiser with the Educational AV Technology Team.

  • Planning the Microsoft Teams Event Setup and discussing the Venue Considerations and the creation of an uninterrupted Teams session
  • Providing the Client with the Microsoft Teams link to be shared with online participants

2. Technical Needs Analysis in the Venue (conducted by Educational AV Technology Specialist)

3. Conducting a Dry Run (when possible)

  • Dependent on Venue Availability
  • Providing an opportunity for organisers and presenters to familiarise themselves with the flow of the event

4. Technical Facilitation of the Hybrid Event

  • Setting Up of the necessary Broadcasting Equipment in the venue on the day of the event
  • Operating of Live-Streaming system and facilitating technical aspects of the Teams event to ensure a high-quality broadcast and manage potential interruptions
  • Remote Monitoring by team members, confirming successful streaming

All requests must be made at least five working days in advance through the Educational AV Technology Specialist and are confirmed based on staff availability and venue requirements. While we specialise in seamless streaming through Microsoft Teams, we can accommodate requests for other platforms on a case-by-case basis.

Request Process:

Please email your request to the Educational AV Technology Specialists on your campus.

Please include the following event details:

  • - Date and Time
  • - Venue Details (on each campus in the case of a cross-campus event)
