WiFi on your phone
On campus, connect with your NWU student number and NWUWIFI password. If you are still waiting for full access, you can use NWU Visitor (where available) as a temporary option.

Student Portal (SIS) login
Use your existing MySIS credentials to sign in. For the best experience, open the Student Portal in a private or incognito browser window to avoid conflicts with other Microsoft accounts already signed in on your device (such as your @mynwu.ac.za email).

Open Wi-Fi setup guideYou are automatically registered on the NWU network and provided with an NWU IT account after successfully registering for your modules.
Your user ID is your NWU student number, and your first password is linked to your RSA ID or passport number.
As a student you will use more than one login at NWU – for example your student number for WiFi and eFundi, and your email address for Microsoft 365.
This short article explains the different NWU login IDs, where each one is used and how they work together, so that you don’t get locked out or confused.
When you are new to NWU and receive your NWU number, your password is initially set to your RSA ID number@Nwu (or passport number@Nwu for international students).
After your first login, you must change your password. It expires every 90 days.
The wireless network (WiFi) provides access to the NWU network in all buildings and residences.
Use your NWU student number and password to log onto NWUWIFI.
As a registered NWU student you have access to Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and OneDrive.
Desktop virtualisation gives you a full lab desktop experience from anywhere, with access to specialised software.
You will receive an Outlook email address studentnumber@mynwu.ac.za for official communication.
Keep your devices secure by installing updates regularly and staying alert to phishing attempts.
eFundi is the eLearning, collaboration and research management system for NWU.
Bookings are subject to availability and formally scheduled classes take priority.
Printing facilities are available in computer labs and campus libraries.
NWU provides several software packages under site licences for use while you are a student.
