This service provides support in terms of advice, licensing and implementation of software for the computer rooms.

Software is divided into two categories:

  • Licensed by ITC
  • Licensed by a specific department (other than ITC).
Cost: 
Licensed by ITC (paid by ITC); Licensed by specific department (paid by the department).

Service Targets

Inclusions: 

This service is applicable only to software used in the computer rooms.

ITC licensing will be considered where the use of the software spreads widely over all the NWU campuses.

Prerequisites: 

New software must be tested by IT to ensure compatibility with already installed software before purchasing of the software can commence. 

Requests for new software must reach IT at least 3 months in advance to be tested and approved by IT before it will be deployed in the computer rooms.

The final software testing is the responsibility of the department.
