Wifi:  No Wifi is available in residences.

Self Help:  Students who may wish to configure WIFI with a self-service may visit: https://services.nwu.ac.za/it/sc/wifi   

Help in residences: IT problems must be reported to the Residence warden if is a block or the whole residence and if it is individual rooms it must be reported to the IT Student Services at Building A1 room 130, Depending on the workload, it may take up to two working days for an IT technician to attend to the problem. In the case of a call-out, the IT technician will contact the student to arrange a meeting. The student is requested to be present when the IT technician attends to his/her problem

 

  • Potch Campus

Wifi:  No Wifi is available in residences.  Wifi coverage areas are defined under our Wifi Service.

Self Help:  Students who may wish to configure WIFI with a self-service may visit: https://services.nwu.ac.za/it/sc/wifi   

Help in residences:

IT problems must be reported to the Residential Officer.
Depending on the workload, it may take up to two working days for an IT technician to attend to the problem.
In the case of a call-out, the IT technician will contact the student from a "private number" to arrange a meeting.
The student is requested to keep his/her cellphone on and answer the expected call.

Resource Computer Rooms

Purpose: A resource computer room is a computer room available for use by all registered students for academic work. These computer rooms are not used for scheduled classes. A generic set of institutionally licensed software is installed.

General Computer Rooms

Purpose: A general computer room is established primarily for teaching and learning purposes and is available for use by all faculties. Scheduled classes receive priority, and the general computer rooms are available for student to use when not booked. Although the generic set of institutionally licensed software may be installed, specialized software will be installed where proof of licensing is provided.
