The Declaration of Interest App is a tool provided by the university to assist staff members in fulfilling their obligations under the university's Policy and Rules on conflict of interest and declaration of interest. Every staff member is required to make a full declaration of all outside interests, whether they be of a business or financial nature, a fiduciary role, or an interest that may relate to their duties as an employee of the university. This includes interests held by direct family members. Declarations must be made at the time of appointment and during the annual formal task agreement negotiation process and updated as necessary.

The Declaration of Interest App is available in the DIY Services Portal. Open your browser and navigate to www.nwu.ac.za. Click on the “DIY Services” link in the page footer.
Sign in with your NWU number and network password. Click on the “Staff” link at the top of the page, just below the page header. Click on the Declaration of Interest App icon.
Staff automatically have access to the app.
