Support departments, which the Quality Enhancement (QE) office is part of, constitute an integral part of the core business of the North-West University, and plays an important role in achieving best practice in all areas. In order to deliver these services/products, it is essential for a support department to continually evaluate its performance and to improve accordingly.

In line with the principles and values of the NWU, the Quality Enhancement Office recognises that the fundamental responsibility for “quality” lies with the relevant faculties, schools, research entities and support service departments across all campuses. The  relative autonomy of academia and all support service departments is highly valued and respected in the planning, provision, monitoring and evaluation of inter alia their processes, activities and services.
