Technical Information

At the start of the project (January 2009), the production HPC consisted of 32 computing nodes. Each node consisted of 8 cores, therefore equaling a total of 256 cores. The cluster reached a maximum performance of 3.2 teraflops. Today, the Yamato HPC has 672 cores with a total of 1.8TB RAM.

16 G1 Nodes with 8 cores, 10 GB RAM + ( 24 GB RAM) per node
4 G7 Nodes with 12 cores, 24 GB RAM per node
13 G8 Nodes with 32 core, 32 GB RAM + (2×64 GB RAM) per node
Totals: 576 Cores with 750 GB Ram 
Storage : 2.8 TB + 5 TB

14 G9 Nodes with 48 cores, 128 GB RAM per node
Totals: 672 Cores with 1.8 TB RAM
