Testing of software before use:
A sandpit cluster environment is available to install and test software, before implementing it on the production HPC. The licensing must be in order before the software is implemented on the production HPC.
HPC-Sandpit
In order for software to be implemented and tested in the sandpit environment, users need to provide:
- The software
- Installation documentation
- Contact information regarding software support
- Necessary license codes (if available)
Once the software is installed and tested, users will be granted the necessary access to the production environment to run their jobs.
Get access
- Get all the names and university numbers of all the researchers/students that must get access to the HPC
- E-mail the above list to martin.dreyer@nwu.ac.za
- A confirmation e-mail will be sent to you, with all the necessary details to get access to the Sandpit
Please Note:
Once the software is tested succesfully within the sandpit environment, only then will it be installed onto the production platform. The most convenient time for the researcher and IT will be scheduled to install the software to be tested onto the production environment.
