Some people enjoy a romantic picnic on Valentine’s Day. Others see it as anything more than just another Wednesday. And others prefer to end the day (no matter the occasion) with a good glass of champagne, Valentine or not.
On the 14th of February the NWU Sports Village Restaurant was a buzz with Potchefstroom’s fine wine tasters and champagne aficionados. It was the 2018 kick-off event in a series of wine tastings hosted by the NWU Alumni Wine Guild. And to commemorate Valentine’s Day, the Guild decided to focus on a variety champagnes.
Guests savoured the fine taste of champagnes from a variety of cellars; including Jean Dorséne, Durbanville Hills, La Gioiosa Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore, Jean Vesselle Rose de Saignee and Cantine di Ora Frizzante. A delicious spread of canapes was prepared by the NWU Sport Village.
