Monica Brown, a South African native, is a force to be reckoned with. Her journey from survivor of gender-based violence to a leading activist, international author, podcaster, radio talk show host to social entrepreneur is a testament to her unwavering spirit and dedication to creating a more equitable world.

Brown's academic pursuits at the University of South Africa and the University of Cape Town, equipped her with the knowledge and skills to address complex social challenges. Her quest for knowledge led her to the University of Southern New Hampshire, where she excelled in the prestigious Postgraduate Certificate in Sustainable Micro-Enterprise Development program. Under the guidance of esteemed faculty, Brown gained invaluable insights into microfinance, community based initiatives, and organisational transformation.

Beyond her academic achievements, Brown's true strength lies in her ability to turn personal pain into a powerful force for positive change. She founded SCREAMZA,29 years ago, a voluntary organisation dedicated to empowering survivors of GBV and promoting awareness, specifically identification and pro-active response in regards to this pressing issue. Her work has led to the development of protocols to combat GBV in various sectors, including schools, churches and businesses.

Through South Africa Scream Pty Ltd, the DEIB/GBV Consultancy she became a fierce advocate for countless survivors by ensuring that churches, organisations, schools and business understands the principles of DEIB and GBV and that they have proper and compliant programs in place to be part of the fight against these social injustices. Helping leaders putting DEIB and GBV Support Programs in place and in action.

Brown's activism extends beyond South Africa. She has mentored activists globally, empowering them to fight for justice in their communities. Her contributions to the field of GBV have been recognised internationally, with her inclusion in the eighth edition of "My Voice..." by Global Influencers Publishing House in Singapore.

Monica isn't afraid to ruffle feathers. She saw the need for systemic change and wasn't shy about challenging the status quo.
