Research Support, in collaboration with Kerlick Editorial & Research Solutions, will again be hosting the popular Research Publication Workshops/Retreats for staff members and postdoctoral researchers of the NWU during 2024.
We are also providing information about a brand new Supervisor Programme to enhance postgraduate student article-writing publication productivity (a ‘fast-track’ workshop for Experienced Supervisors and another, 3-part programme during the 2024 academic year that is designed specifically for Emerging Supervisors).
Please refer to the following documents:
- An Overview, which describes the Kerlick workshops available during 2024;
- The 2024 Schedule will follow for all the workshops that are scheduled during the year. We have planned three introductory Workshop A’s and five Workshop B article-writing retreats (Workshop B is normally attended only by participants who have previously attended a Workshop A), as well as the workshops for postdoctoral researchers. The schedule also includes details of the workshops in the Supervisor programme.
- Background details of the Kerlick Facilitators;
- An Application Form: you may submit your application at any time if you would like to participate, as early as you wish. After receiving the Application Form, the Workshop Coordinator will send you further details, as well as a Registration Form for completion to confirm your intention to attend the workshop. (This application and confirmation process forms the basis for our planning.)
The introductory Workshop A’s will be conducted virtually, via Zoom. The Workshop B retreats will either be conducted via Zoom or face-to-face at campus venues, depending on the number of participants and the levels of interest on the different campuses.
The venue for each Workshop B will be confirmed at a later stage. In the case of venue-based face-to-face retreats, you are welcome to attend on any campus where the workshop is presented – irrespective of where you are stationed. Supervisor workshops will be conducted either via Zoom or face-to-face (depending on numbers and level of interest), and a hybrid format is being considered (to be confirmed), However, travel and accommodation expenses for attending face-to-face workshops will be for your own account.
Please note – deadlines for workshops in February 2024:
If you would like to attend any of the scheduled workshops, please send Mrs Amanda Koto the completed application form as soon as possible.
