NWU Records Management
In July 2017, the Records and Administration department at North-West University became part of Records, Archives, and Museums. This department's goal is to manage the university's records efficiently through a comprehensive records management program. This program focuses on classification, retention, disposal, accessibility, security, confidentiality, training, and quality management.
The university relies on its records as crucial information assets for efficient operation and accountability. NWU's policy is to comply with the Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA), the National Archives and Records Service Act (NARS), the International Standard for Records Management (ISO 15489), the South African National Standard for Records Management (SANS 15489), the Constitution, and other relevant legislation.
All staff and student leaders are responsible for maintaining and managing appropriate records according to the NWU Records Management Policy and procedures.
