You can insert animated videos, standard images (JPG, PNG), and embedded videos. Basic JPG and PNG format images are the most common, and videos can also be embedded.

How many flip cards can be created at a time, and how will they be displayed?

You can create more than one flip card. If multiple flip cards are added within a single block, they will be displayed next to each other (side by side).

Can flip card display settings be changed to show one card at a time (to reduce cognitive load)?

If you keep adding flip cards within the same block, they will be displayed side by side. To display one flip card at a time, create individual flip card blocks — add one flip card per block.

Does Brightspace track whether students have completed self-practice items?

Self-assessment or practice questions are not tracked in the Gradebook. However, assignments and quizzes can be tracked, including the number of attempts and grades achieved.

How do you make Excel or other files available for students to download in their original format?

Go to Course Admin → Manage Files → Upload the file → Save. Then go to the Content Tool, open the relevant unit, select Insert Quicklink → Course File → select the uploaded file and save. Students can then download the file in its original format.

Does a layout placed in tables adjust/adapt when viewed on a mobile screen?

Yes. The layout automatically adjusts and resizes itself when viewed on different screen sizes, including mobile devices.

Can we see whether students have interacted with H5P content?

Yes. You can use the Class Progress report to see whether learners have accessed H5P content and how many times. H5P assessment content can also be linked to the Gradebook.

Can the embed code from H5P.org be used in a Brightspace content page?

Yes. Using the embed code from H5P.org is one of the easiest ways to include H5P content in Brightspace.

When creating New Units using 'Generate Unit from File,' what forces the page breaks (subunits)?

When using Generate Unit from File to import a Word document, page breaks (subunits) are determined by the document's heading structure. Heading styles (e.g., Heading 1) are used to detect natural section boundaries, which the system then converts into separate pages within the generated unit. For PowerPoint-based generation, each slide (or a small group of related slides) forms the basis for a new page. To control how your content is split, structure your source Word document with clear, consistently applied heading levels before uploading it.

Are there limitations on the use of 'Generate Unit from File' since it uses AI?

Yes. Each use of 'Generate Unit from File' counts toward the 1.8 million yearly AI generation allocation.

How do you add SCORM or Articulate content to Acadex?

Export the content from Articulate as a SCORM package. In the unit, select 'Add Existing' and choose SCORM/xAPI. The maximum upload limit is 50 files.

Export of IMS content cartridges from eFundi may exceed 2 GB. How should this be handled?

This can be managed via the migration tool to carry over content from eFundi to Acadex.

Where can you add Creator+ elements in Acadex?

Creator+ elements can only be added within pages in Acadex.
