NewLMS Project: The Journey So Far and What is Next?
08:30 am | Friday, 04 April 2025
While we may have been quiet over the past few months, rest assured that our project team has been hard at work behind the scenes! The current integration between SIS and eFundi has been receiving ongoing attention. In terms of moving to a new LMS, we have been focused on refining our implementation strategies and enhancing various aspects of the overall project to ensure a successful rollout.
Current Status: Reports on functional, technical, and financial aspects are finalised and will now be presented to the different management and governance structures. We anticipate a final approval by Council in June 2025. Following approval, implementation will take place over the next few years with next year focusing on background processes such as system integration.
Once we receive the green light, we will hit the ground running with our implementation plan, bringing our vision to life!
Stay tuned for more updates as we move forward. We appreciate your patience and enthusiasm as we work towards this exciting next phase!

"Technology and software change all the time! As a university that strives to benefit society through the provision of knowledge and excelling in innovative teaching, we need to embrace perpetual growth and development, continuous learning, and constant improvement. As such we realise the introduction of a new LMS will require a steep learning curve but that is pivotal in supporting a student-centred approach to teaching and learning. Ultimately better functionalities will benefit both staff and students.”
