
The Centre for Scholarly Publishing Services is a wholly black-owned scholarly publishing
services company. They specialise in research and scholarly publishing services. They offer services to clients in both the private and public sector as well as to individuals. We deliver cost effective services timeously.
Facilitator
Solani Ngobeni is Publishing Director at the Centre for Scholarly Publishing Services (Pty) Ltd. He has extensive experience in academic and scholarly publishing. He has previously worked at Juta Academic Publishers/UCT Press, the Africa Institute of South Africa and the Human Sciences Research Council as a Publications Director, managing an IBSS accredited journal, Africa Insight and publishing scholarly books.
Ngobeni's contribution to the publishing industry has been recognised with an award for International Young Publisher of the Year in 2007. With his experience and passion for excellence, he is an ideal facilitator for any publishing- related event or workshop.

To fully benefit from this face-to-face Writing Retreat, we expect all attendees to꞉
- Commit to attending the entire Writing Retreat and communicate with their line manager to ensure they are fully prepared.
- Submit a well-considered and well- articulated research study in the form of a draft journal article to the facilitator, Solani Ngobeni, at solani@csps.co.za
- Complete a draft article ready for submission for publication to their chosen journal. We understand that attending a retreat can be challenging, but we believe that with the right mindset and preparation, you can make the most of this opportunity.
Background
This is a 5-day contact session designed to help NWU academics & support staff convert their research into publishable journal articles, books, or chapters. The retreat emphasizes focused, pre-submitted manuscripts and one-on-one expert feedback to accelerate publication-ready outputs, fostering a rigorous, publication-focused writing environment outside the campus.
