The Album is the official student online newspaper for the North-West University (NWU) Mahikeng Campus. As a revival of our former print publication, we have transitioned to a digital-first platform—a comprehensive campus news website supported by active social media channels. Our purpose is to serve as the central hub for information, entertainment, and connection on campus, with a primary focus on student life. By maintaining the name The Album, we aim to honour our legacy and attract engagement from our alumni and former stakeholders.
Our Vision
To be the indispensable platform that connects, informs, and entertains the Mahikeng Campus community, fostering a strong sense of belonging and becoming a meaningful and lasting voice for student life.
Our Mission
Our mission is threefold: to inform the community, to empower students, and to facilitate campus-wide dialogue.
We accomplish this by:
- Being the Go-To Source:
Providing relevant, engaging, and timely content that reports on events, issues, achievements, and developments within the university community.
- Empowering Expression:
Offering a practical platform for students to express their opinions, creativity, and campus experiences through original content.
- Developing Skills:
Creating an experiential learning environment for students to hone their journalism, writing, editing, and content creation skills in preparation for professional careers.
- Building Community:
Cultivating a culture of open and constructive dialogue, critical thinking, and information sharing that brings students, staff, and alumni together.
