AGLA121 / AGLE121 (depending on the student’s preferred or working language), is a compulsory module for all students registering at the University for the first time. The purpose of the module is to assist students in functioning within an academic language environment. The module contains a reading development component which is administered by CTL. The reading development component is completed by means of computerised reading programmes in the reading development centre. The subminimum is achieved when the student can read 350 words per minute with 70% comprehension.

Visit the reading development centre in Building 13, Room SL301 to do your reading test. The centre is open weekdays during the first semester from 08:00-16:00 and on Saturdays from 09:00-12:00. In the second semester the centre is open Mondays to Thursdays from 8:00 – 20:00, on Fridays from 8:00 – 17:00 and Saturdays from 9:00 – 12:00.
